Am I Free To Go Now?

Obligatory disclaimers,lawyer-talk,absolutions, and other words that will numb your ears:  This site does not contain legal advice. (The internet is free. Legal advice, you have to pay for.)  I am not your attorney, unless and until you have retained me in a specific case. This site might be a lawyer advertisement if the bar regulation of such things ever reaches web 2.0 stage, although I would be silly to try and solicit any more work. This site is aimed primarily at my peers in the law, in writing, in academics, and in social justice efforts.  If you are not yet a peer, be warned I am fallible, intemperate, prone to colorful language, can handle high altitude better than most and can drink many of them under the table (okay, not Scott).

A New Mexico criminal law update with a focus on new analysis in mental health law, indigent defense, state constitutional and civil rights, and child sex abuse allegations, as well as lots of animals and high mountain scenery.

About Me

I run a solo criminal defense appeals and writing practice in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.  I write state and federal appeals from criminal convictions, and motions litigation with talented trial attorneys in trial-level cases.  I teach appellate practice at UNM School of Law.  I am striving to balance the intensity of my practice with a rich outside life.
